Kia ora Ōtautahi! Bad Diaries Salon is coming to WORD Christchurch in 2024!
Bad Diaries Salon #FRAME will feature four outstanding writers – Louise Wallace, Josiah Morgan (Kāi Tahu, Ngāti Maniapoto), Jessica Hinerangi aka Māori Mermaid (Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāruahine, Ngāpuhi, Pākehā), and Megan Dunn – reading from their unpublished diaries on the salon theme, FRAME. The event will be hosted by Tracy Farr.
The theme for Bad Diaries Salon at WORD Christchurch this year is FRAME – riffing on honoured writer for this year’s WORD festival, Janet Frame (the WORD Christchurch opening night event, In the Frame, is on the centenary of Janet Frame’s birth) – but also conjuring art and images and galleries, pinning a crime on someone, and so much more.
Bad Diaries Salon is raw, raucous, unedited and candid: the written word, rediscovered and shared.
When: 8.00pm–9.15pm Friday 30 August 2024
Where: Altiroa (The Gym), The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora, Worcester Blvd, Christchurch
